At Daisybank Bed & Breakfast, we strive to make our beautiful cottages as accessible as possible while maintaining the luxury and comfort our guests expect. We understand that everyone’s needs are different, and we are happy to assist in any way we can to ensure a comfortable stay.
Cottage Layout & Access
All seven of our stylish suites are located on the ground floor, making access easier for guests with mobility concerns. Both Daisybank Cottage and the adjoining Gardener’s Cottage have been designed with accessibility in mind, without compromising on elegance and comfort.
Entrance Access:
- Disabled parking is available at both the front and back of the cottage.
- The front door has two steps, each approximately 6 inches high. We have a ramp available for use at both the front and back entrances—please let us know if you would like to use it.
Individual Suite Access:
- The Courtyard Suite: Small 1-inch step from the bedroom to the courtyard and into the wet room.
- The Solent Suite: Small 1-inch step into the wet room.
- The Marryat Suite: Small 1-inch ledge leading to the terrace.
- Daisy Suite – small 1-inch step into shower unit
- The Brightiff Suite: 12-inch step into the bathroom.
- The Dandelion and Burdock Suites (in the Gardener’s Cottage): Each has a 6-inch step at the entrance.
Additional Support:
A disabled shower seat is available upon request.
Wheelchair Accessibility
The doors throughout Daisybank Cottage are wide enough for most wheelchairs. Our daughter occasionally uses a wheelchair (54cm wide), and she is able to access all rooms, including the Breakfast Room, without issue. However, not all en-suites have full turning space, and the Brightiff Suite en-suite is not suitable for wheelchair access.
We consider ourselves a disabled-friendly boutique bed and breakfast, but we are not a fully accessible establishment. If you have specific mobility needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us before booking to discuss your personal requirements.

- The cottage is very well-lit to aid visibility.
